Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem
All Praise be to Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala
During Ramadan, I made lots and lots of Du’as Alhamdulillah. One du’a that I made was on my cooking. Before I used to be good at cooking lots of food Alhamdulillah. I would cook almost every day for my family.
After a while, I stopped cooking because of school and work. I would cook once in a while. All because of this, I lost my interest in cooking. Every time I cooked, it would be a disaster. Most of the food I cooked was burnt and some was just a total mess!!!
The sad part was I had to eat it all by myself because no one would touch it. I agree it did taste bad. However, this never stopped me. I never gave up my cooking. I still tried to practice and practice but still wasn’t even close to perfect. The reason was that I would get distracted so easily. I would slice tomatoes and think of the issue I had in the morning. My problem was I never concentrated on my cooking at all.
Keeping all this issue in mind, I made du’a this Ramadan to Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala to help me learn how to cook well. Yesterday I was told to make some lunch. I went into the kitchen and made some Du’a again for my food to be good.
After spending one and a half hour in the kitchen, I made the food and served it to my little brother. I told him while eating, “I usually don’t like my cooking but you should try it, it’s so good Alhamdulillah!!” When he ate, he said he liked it. It was delicious. Then when my sisters tried it, they loved it. I was surprised myself. One of my sisters said, “This is the best food you ever made in your life!!” I am telling you, I do make good food!!
Alhamdulillah I hope Insha’Allah I continue to cook good food without burning it. Cooking is this one easy thing that can make everyone happy. So it’s good if we learn it and it’s a lot of fun. Alhamdulillah. The lesson I got from this story is that whenever you fail at something or if you need any help in anything, don’t give up and keep asking Allah for help. He will help you in every way. He is there for you always Insha’Allah! SubhanAllahi Wa bihamdihi SubhanAllahil Azim!
