Husband and wife performing Hajj

Story by Anonymous

A Muslim husband and his wife both went on a journey to perform Hajj. It was their first time and they both feel excited. They thank Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala for this great honor and they become humble towards Him; prostrating to Him in thankfulness. In their excitement and happiness, they both leave every worry, sadness, and thoughts aside and walk towards the Masjid Al Haram. Before taking this journey, they spend months to prepare for it. They take some time out every day to learn about Hajj…
They want to do their best to please Allah Subhana Wa ta’ala.

Safiya and her husband, Mu’adh love each other for the sake of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala. They meet their families, loved ones and everyone they know asking them for forgiveness. While learning about Hajj and about how the Prophet Sall Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam performed His Hajj, they become overjoyed.

Allah’s Messenger (Sall Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“A comer, sent by my Lord, has called on me tonight and said: ‘Pray in this blessed valley and say: I intend ‘Umrah combined with Hajj” (Sahih Al-Bukhari 1/207)

During the night, they pray Salat Al Tahajjud remembering Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala.

They do everything to keep in mind to please Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala and can’t wait to go to the blessed journey of Hajj in a few months. It was their only dream and they wanted to make sure they please Allah Almighty, Most High.

Safiya and Mu’adh work hard to earn money in a halal way in order to perform Hajj. They both tell each other, “We have been blessed and given the great honor to go on Hajj this time and we do not know if we will be given the same opportunity again. However we will always make du’a to Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala to go again and again inshAllah. We want to be at those blessed places and fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam SubhanAllah!”

Now today is the day they go on the plane to perform Hajj. After reaching the place, their minds, hearts and themselves focus only on the worship of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala because He is worthy to be worshipped. They do not care about taking pictures or shopping for anything. They help others who have come to perform Hajj with them. They share their food with the Hajis.

Verily, the first House (of worship) appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing, and a guidance for Al-‘Alamin (the mankind and jinns). (3:96)

رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَـذَا الْبَلَدَ آمِنًا

Safiya and Mu’adh perform their Hajj as if it’s their last day on this earth. They keep themselves away from the world and focus only on Allah. Talbiyah on their tongues night and day.

After a few days, when Safiya and Mu’adh reach Safa and Marwa, Safiya gets exhausted from the journey. Her husband, Mu’adh does his best to encourage her reminding her of the wife of Ibrahim (Alayhis Salam). He tells her the story of Hajar (peace be upon her). She calmly listens to him. Then he tells her to be energetic and how we believers rush towards Jannah. After listening to her husband, Safiya performs her Hajj with lots of enthusiasm and for the love of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala.

Allah says in the Qur’an :

“And be quick for forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth.” [3:133]

Oh Allah let us visit this blessed City and let us perform hajj and ‘umra for the sake of you alone.

“O Allah! Forgive our past and future sins, the hidden, as well as the apparent and gather us in Jannah by Your mercy, without reckoning” Ameen

May Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala accept the Hajj of all the Hajis. Ameen. Allahu Akbar!!
