A love story

A story by a sister who wishes to remain anonymous.

Once upon a beautiful moonlight night, Huda walks on the cold fresh grass glowing like the jasmine flower reflected by the moon. She enters gracefully in a garden as a bride and marries a man named Ammar. An arranged marriage was the ongoing topic among her cousins. She was delighted this moment ready to be wed to an unknown man.

She said to herself, “I can do this. I put my trust in Allah Subhana Wa ta’ala. Nothing is easy except what Allah Subhana Wa ta’ala has made easy”. Whenever Huda reaches any difficulty or confusion in a decision, she prays Salat Al Istikhara and leaves it to Allah Subhana Wa ta’ala. Many in her family admired her courage in everything she does. She takes no worries on anything. She is cool about everything but hot headed at the same time.

After getting married to Ammar, she realizes that it was the biggest mistake of her life. The man always gives her troubles and for no reason, she thinks to herself. Ammar and Huda fight for the smallest things. Ammar is always busy with work and he sleeps very little. Huda finds it as a problem because he is always on his laptop and the noises disturb her. He sleeps when she wakes up Tahhajud prayer which makes Ammar angry because she tries waking him up. Ammar wakes up before Fajr to pray Tahajjud, the time Huda is already done praying. He disturbs her and she disturbs him. One follows the Hanafi madhab and the other follow Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal. They always have different opinions on everything. Sometimes they fight for the prayer rug or who prays first or last. They fight when they eat breakfast for few reasons. At times Ammar criticizes Huda for the food she makes. Huda cooks everything she likes without asking Ammar what he would like for breakfast.

Little things become a huge deal for both husband and wife. It was that time of the moment, Ammar’s mom comes from Saudi to visit them both. Ammar and Huda welcome her with love. A few days of her stay, Umm Ammar realizes that they both can’t stay together.

Therefore, Umm Ammar decides to take her daughter in law with her in order to calm things down between them. At this decision, Ammar and Huda explode with lots of joy. They are finally away from each other!!

At the Airport, Ammar and Huda shake their hands as if they are strangers or are business partners. For a second, Huda and Ammar feel some sadness inside them. They both can’t figure it out what happened. The next day, Huda arrives in Saudi. She lives with her in laws. They were very loving people. Huda breathes with a sigh of relief  that Ammar isn’t there anymore.

Few days go on, Huda feels miserable without Ammar. Not having someone to fight with or to share each other’s complains on everything. She misses his smile when she gets angry at him.

At home, Ammar begins to miss Huda. Her beautiful face, those innocent eyes, the troublemaker! He calls her every day when she gives him troubles. Her cooking was different from his mom but it was delicious. He remembers how she used to wake him up for Fajr and how she recites Qur’an in a sweet voice. He misses her and she misses him.

No sooner that one week of an unusual separation passed, Ammar goes to Saudi. He is happy but gets nervous at the same time. With a smile on his face he enters his parent’s house. While walking towards the door, he trips upon seeing Huda. She was looking so beautiful. In his mind he says, this is the Huda with Noor. As soon as Huda sees him, she rushes towards him and they both embrace each other.

This is the end of a love story.
