An experience by a sister who wishes to remain anonymous.
Although we live thousands of miles apart, One of her major concerns for me was if I prayed or not. She did not worry about anything else. She advised me to make lots of Duas and to never leave my prayers. Her advices meant a lot to me. She said she finished her Quran eight times already mashAllah! I truly admire her and every person in my family feels a great joy talking to her.
Having someone older than us is a great blessing Alhamdulillah. Their advices are very precious and valuable. There is so much we can learn from them and they are always there to guide us when we do wrong. Alhamdulillah we have grandparents.
Islam teaches us to treat our elders with kindness and respect. The people older than us have much more knowledge than us and they always love to see us happy. It’s such an honor to be with them in gatherings and everywhere.
The Prophet SalAllahu Alayhi Wa sallam said: “He does not belong to my ummah who does not honor our elders, show compassion to our young ones, and pay due respect to our scholars.” Ahmad and Tabaraani.
